Money is an important tool in the lives of our families. With it, we have the ability to make more choices. Without it, life can feel limited. Like it or not, our financial lives may be inadvertently woven into the financial lives of family members, even those who do not live in your homes. Aging parents, adult children, aunts, uncles, grandparents and others may need your help one day and sometimes this involves money, yours and theirs. It is important to understand what is going on in the lives of those for whom we may be responsible for one day. As each member of a sports team must know the plays, the strengths and weaknesses of each team member, so must we bring the same understanding to our families including the financial aspects of their lives.
